Arkansas...the Who, What, When, Where and Why
This Readers' Theatre will introduce your students to famous faces and places in Arkansas' history. A cooperative group assessment activity challenges your students to connect economic concepts with facts that answer the 5 W Questions.
I Love Arkansas
Students will learn "picture perfect" facts about tourism in Arkansas by assembling cameras. Then each will be employed in a bumper sticker to produce "I Love Arkansas" bumper stickers.
Place the Face
This activity will have your students read biographical sketches about famous Arkansans and share their findings with others in class. Each student will then share whether the famous Arkansan produces/produced a good or service.
The Important Book about Arkansas
Perhaps you are familiar with the Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown. This activity will challenge students to research and develop a page for The Important Book about Arkansas, focusing on a famous place or face of Arkansas. For younger students, this might be a great family activity.
Arkansas History Mystery Tour
Explore some popular Arkansas places and learn history and economics at the same time. As a challenge, ask students to create an additional mystery stop for the class.
Arkansas Cities and Towns
Want to learn about cities and towns across Arkansas? This activities pairs students with clues and cities. When they find their match, they use mapping skills to discover more about the city or town to report to the class.
